the greeting was excellent the rooms were basic but very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was only a short drive to the centre of ST Albans which was lovely.
I found the bedroom very clean and was particularly impressed with the linen which was white so would have showed any defects immediately.
Very run down and shabby guest house.Worn carpet, peeling paintwork and mouldy bathroom! Can't understand why it has 3 stars!
Nice friendly Guest House with free wi-fi. Nothing special, but good for the price.
Only 5 channels on the TV
Stayed for 1 night, basic, clean room. Friendly staff and good service.
the room was a good size for a single and was quiet
the heating was not working although an electric heater was provided after complaining about the cold room
Convenient location to town centre and god parking
The sealant around the bath was mouldy in both rooms
Very conveinient location, which provided a very good Bed and Full English Breakfast, all Rooms have a Microwave, for evening "Take Aways"
Probably the time of year, but the rooms were quite cool during the evening
Accommodation offered personal touches, as opposed to seeing the four standard hotel type walls you could get from any chain of hotels. This guest house has restored my faith in independently owned businesses.
Friendly welcome, get what you pay for
In desparate need of updating which is due to start. Eg. Shower head not able to be set at correct height / angle.
Free wifi, location, parking. Bed was comfortable.
Very basic, decor badly worn especially in stairs, corridors. Room very dated, bathroom very poor.
Very kind and helpful staff, impressively clean and organised, everything needed in a room (including tv and WiFi) and microwave, cutlery, iron and water available on the hall to be used at any time.
The bed was touching the wall with the window, and as it was a very cold night, the cold coming from the wall was freezing me even with the heating on. Not the hotels fault obviously. Some noise of loud radio and people walking from upstairs, but that was up to 9pm.
The newly refurbished rooms are very comfortable, well worth the money. Once fully refurbished I imagine it will be a popular quaint hotel, a cheap taxi ride away from the town center and train stations, the prices won't be this good for long! Thank you for a pleasent stay.
The room was fairly clean and it's an ok Location for the Airport
I booked a cot and upon arrival was told they didnt have any cots. The window was open when we arrived at 12.30am and the room was freezing. The bathroom smelled damp. Overall not worth the money.
It was well located.
Given it cost £72 for a double room we expected the standard to be a little higher. I've stayed in 4* hotels for £80 a night that were substantially better. The rooms were adequate and clean but very basic.
